We witnessed the launch of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift at the beginning of this year. One of the most prominent names from the most popular Maruti cars, the swift has now received a limited edition variant.

The Limited Edition Maruti Suzuki Swift price starts at around 5 lakh and it is available in VXi/VDi, LXi/LDi, ZXi+/ZDi+ and ZXi/ZDi variants. Each of the versions gets some goodies with price remaining the same as the regular models.

Exterior and Interior

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition features headlamps having LED projector and DRLs, just like the Dzire. A refreshed grille along with a new bumper with fog lamps can be seen at the front. The side profile of the hatch has the C-pillar design. The black cladding and new door handles also add to the design at the sides. The vehicle comes with a bit more squarish tail lamps, which make the overall design a bit aggressive.

Inside the car, the brand new Swift gets a new touchscreen infotainment system, which supports the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel and driver console are modified with the new speedo/tacho and information display along with the new lighting.

Powertrain

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition derives the power from a 4-cylinder, K-Series Petrol Engine with VVT engine. The 1197 cc engine is capable of churning out a maximum 83 bhp of power along with a peak torque of 115 Nm. Both the maximum power and torque come at a rev range of 6000 rpm and 4000 rpm respectively.

Moreover, the vehicle also has a diesel-powered variant. It comes with a 1248cc DDiS engine, which is offering up to 74 hp of power and the peak torque is 190 Nm. The rev range for the maximum power and torque is 4000 rpm and 2000 rpm respectively.

The base variant comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the range-topping Z trims and the mid-level Z variant get AMT options.

Braking and Safety

Speaking of its braking, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition comes with Ventilated Disc
to stop the front wheels while the rear wheels get drum brakes. Both the brakes support ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution).

The hatch comes with airbags (driver and passenger), central locking, Child Safety Lock, Engine Immobilizer, rear parking sensors and Headlamp Beam Adjuster as the safety features.

Verdict

As for the company’s stat, near about 19,000 units of the Maruti Suzuki Swift has been sold at every month, and the new arrival has the potential to cross the figure.  The brand new Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition is giving a tough competition to the likes of Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10, Mahindra KUV100, Toyota Etios, etc.
